Lightning and Thunder Strike in Waco
WACO (BS) -- On a day filled with rain and a rare lightning delay, Thunder Collins lead four 100-yard rushers as Nebraska routed Baylor to stay #1 in this week's Cornerstone BS Poll.
Nebraska (7-0) rushed for 641 yards, including 165 by Collins, to compensate for first-half fumbles and rout the Bears 48-7. The rushing total was the second-best in school history.
The Blackshirts came up big again, allowing 187 yards of total offense and zero points. Baylor's lone touchdown came on an end zone fumble recovery immediately following the 36-minute lightning delay.
Following their 38-19 pasting of Kansas State, Texas Tech (3-2) jumped three spots to claim the #2 position. The Red Raiders will face the #1 Huskers in Lincoln this Saturday.
Oklahoma (6-0) retained the #3 ranking with a 38-10 win over Kansas. Miami (5-0) defeated Florida State 49-27 to remain #4. Fresno State (6-0) climbed to 5th after their 25-22 overtime victory over Colorado State.
