Eric Crouch ran wild against ISU, totalling 104 yards and setting a new NCAA record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback.
Huskers Rout Cyclones Again to Remain #1

LINCOLN (BS) - Despite their billing as the Huskers' toughest opponent to date, Iowa State provided little resistance against the Nebraska, the #1 team in this week's Cornerstone BS Poll.

Nebraska (6-0) defeated the Cyclones 42-14 thanks to another standout performance by Eric Crouch. The senior rushed 15 times for 104 yards, including four touchdowns. With his third touchdown, a 25-yard option keeper with 2:38 left in the second quarter, Crouch broke the NCAA Division I-A record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, pushing his career total to 51.

Despite their 16-10 loss at Texas A&M, Baylor benefitted from favorable fan poll and computer rankings to claim the #2 spot. The Bears will host #1 Nebraska in Waco this Saturday.

Oklahoma (5-0) retained the #3 ranking with a 14-3 win over much-hyped Texas. Miami (4-0) defeated Troy State 38-7 to remain #4. Texas Tech quietly climbed to 5th after an impressive 34-31 loss to unheralded Kansas.

Rounding out the Top 10 is sixth-ranked Florida (5-0), Fresno State (5-0), Virginia Tech (5-0), Oregon (5-0) and UCLA (4-0).
