Huskers Feast on Rice
LINCOLN (BS) - That's more like it.

Eric Crouch ran for two touchdowns and threw for three as the Big Red rolled to a 48-3 win over Rice Thursday night.

In less than three quarters, Crouch ran for 97 yards on 12 carries and passed for 165 yards, going 9-of-11, leading NU to a 42-0 lead.

The game had been scheduled for last Saturday, but was postponed due to the terrorist attacks that shut down all major sports.

After an emotional pregame ceremony that included a videotaped message from former Huskers coach and current Congressman Tom Osborne, Nebraska responded with its most dominating game of the season.

The Blackshirts, despite allowing a season-high 365 yards, almost pitched a shutout. With 7:49 left, Brandon Skeen kicked a 25-yard field goal for the Owls' only score.

Rice (2-1) will likely drop several spots from #2 when the BS Poll rankings are released Monday. With the win, Nebraska (4-0) further cemented their #1 ranking.

Nebraska now leads the all-time series with Rice 1-0-0.
